William Panzarella

Founder & Executive Officer
William has lived in over 8 cities while working in the corporate world of global logistics. He began volunteering locally as a way of getting involved and creating relationships in each community he lived in. While helping with homework, delivering meals, spending time with families in need and listening to their stories, he was impressed how a little help went a long way for these families.

When William moved to Minneapolis he began volunteering as a facilitator for a local youth group who held meetings once a week. He was deeply impacted by the dedication of the group, and the parents who drove from near and far, rain or shine to get their kids to these meetings. William found that working with at risk youth was where he felt most fulfilled and where he had the most to offer.

When the youth group was closed for lack of funding William was inspired to move forward with plans he had been working on to help raise money for groups like the one he was working with and any where else help was needed.

It was from William's desire to help and the need of charities supporting causes that affect positive change for at risk youth and families that the Aegis Foundation was born.

William has received several awards and certificates of appreciation for his efforts and dedication to volunteerism and leadership in the many communities he has been a part of.

If you ask William what drives him in his tireless dedication he will tell you, "Giving back. It's a simple concept."

Erich D. Martin

Finance Chair
Erich considers working with youth as his vocation. He has spent many years volunteering in a number of youth organizations and is passionate about providing young people the tools they need for success.

Most recently Erich has served on the MN Aids Trek board, volunteered with Families Moving Forward and serves as chaperone for his church High School youth group.

Erich was raised in Detroit and attended Western Michigan University where he earned his BS in Finance. Erich has worked in Higher Education for thirteen years and is currently employed by the University of Minnesota as the CMU Events and Conferences Coordinator.

Lauren Herro

Vice President of the Aegis Foundation
Lauren has been with Aegis since it's inception in January of 2008. While she enjoys planning our events, she thrives on the execution. Lauren is excited to have the opportunity to learn about the many local organizations providing services for youth and helping Aegis do all we can to help them continue their services. Lauren is confident that the Aegis Foundation will continue to grow and is excited to be involved in that process.

Kamie Clark Moen
Board of Directors
Administrative Event Coordinator
Kamie's responsibilities include strategic planning and development of the Aegis Foundation, review of Aegis finances and other issues relevant to the organization. Kamie has a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and Communications from the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis, Minnesota and currently works as a health-care consultant for Axia Strategies, Inc. She has been an active volunteer in Minneapolis and St. Paul through the Aquatennial and Winter Carnival as well as additional volunteer organizations throughout the Metro area of Minnesota.

Marie Tavlin

Marie has volunteered with children both here in Minneapolis and in Kolkata, India. She is excited to be a part of the Aegis mission and looks forward to the rewards and challenges of helping Aegis reach it's goals.

Kate Iverson

Publicist
Kate is a seasoned arts promoter, entertainment writer/editor and special event producer. As editor in chief of l'etoile magazine (which has been described as "the online magazine with the biggest rolodex in town"), Iverson brings her formidable promotional talents and creative production skills to the Aegis Foundation's events as their official publicist.
